Woking Shared Spaces - Incident Reporting Form

On Thursday 2 September 2010, Surrey County Council's Local Committee for Woking decided to make permanent an order allowing cyclists to share the town centre space with pedestrians following the completion of a 17-month long trial, during which no incidents were reported by either pedestrians or cyclists.

Shared space routes through the Town Centre have been important to Cycle Woking’s success in attracting more people to travel by bike and Cycle Woking is pleased that Woking’s Local Committee has agreed to make the traffic order permanent. However, the partnership between Woking Borough Council and Surrey County Council agrees that the decision needs to be reviewed on a regular basis to ensure that it is not causing significant disruption or concern for any of the town’s visitors. In particular, it is keen to address concerns from local disabled people, who are worried that sharing space can make them feel vulnerable.

If you have experienced an incident, as a pedestrian or a cyclist, please complete this e-form to help us monitor shared spaces around the Town Centre. As part of Cycle Woking’s commitment to ensuring the safety of pedestrians and cyclists, the town’s CCTV footage will also be monitored.
